Another Little Bundle of Joy

October 12th, 2007

This is a picture of our newborn little girl, Amiyah Aviana. My wife has had a very long and very hot summer of pregnancy. The labor was rather long and the hospital was probably the worst we’ve experienced. My wife was trying to get through her contractions in a dirty break room! There was a very loud soda machine in this small room and a TV playing an obnoxious movie. All the while we listened as four… um… more-country-like-folk explained rather loudly on a cell phone that, “the reason the baby wasn’t named Keith Jr. was cuz she didn’t know if was Keith’s or Justin’s”. How pleasant. After that we walked…. yes a woman in labor, in a hospital had to WALK… to a room that was rather quickly cleaned. There was even a bug on the exam table. My wife didn’t know this (she will now!) as I didn’t want to upset her even more. I simply removed the bug.

Negatives aside though, it’s great to have our little blessing home. Our son Dominic (4) and our daughter Analeah (2) just love with their new little sister. They’ve been known to shower her with kisses, hugs and head-rubbing. Tyler (10) seems okay with having a new sister.

We thank our Heavenly Abba (Father) for this wonderful blessing, Amiyah! He has given so much to us. Barukh HaShem! (Bless The Name)

P.S. Amiyah is a name we slapped together. Ami is Hebrew for, “my people” and Yah for God. Thus, Ami + Yah = God of my people. Aviana is derived from Havah (Eve) and Hannah, which is also the first part of Analeah. (
Hannah + Leah)

Congrats! Is the name pronounced with a long “i” or a short “i” for the first name? Congrats again and sorry to hear of your hospital experience. What hospital was it? You can email me that answer if you choose to.

Oh CONGRATS Shane and Christin, she is absolutely beautiful!

I am so sorry to hear about the bad surroundings you endured during labor. I can so empathize. I am so thankful to hear that everything turned out wonderfully though.

Thank you for explaining her name, and her sister’s… how creative and lovely they are. Leah and Hannah were both names that we considered. :)
