God is not Mocked

June 3rd, 2006

Rant warning.

I stumbled on a post with this title: “Is it Lawful to Buy a Mac on the Sabbath? ” (I won’t link to the post) One commenter correctly points out that this would be Saturday. The same commenter continues on to say however that it is still okay. Among the banter was a cite of Yeshua picking grain and healing on Sabbath. The correlation is then drawn to the Mac bringing glory to God as the reason it is okay. Oy vey! Has Elohim really become a pop culture iconic reference? Has He gone from Pilot to Co-Pilot and now back to stewardess? Why not cut out the “middle-man” all together? Are people so incapable of seeing the glaring difference between good deeds and material gain?

I offer comfort to this concerned Calvinist. Rest assured, you only violated Rome’s “Lord’s Day” and you’ve probably only upset: Mithra, Zeus, Ra, Vishnu, Osiris, Horus, Hercules, Dionysus, Indra, Buddha, etc. These sun deities may be mad but Yeshua never gave anyone a commandment to observe the Sun-day, so buy away!

On a side note, have you noticed, as I have, that on Sun-day the stores are packed with “Christians”? He is The Elohim (God) and He gets an hour a week on a different day than He commanded. He asked for a complete day on the day that He made, blessed and sanctified for us.

“The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath. So the Son of Man is lord even of the Sabbath.”

Weird… it doesn’t say that man is lord of the Sabbath.

613 commandments
10 commandments
9 commandments

Come on, grab your crucifix and we can get it down to 8!
