Sick as a dog
July 27th, 2005Last Friday, I woke up with body aches and somewhat of a sore throat(which would get much worse). I’ve been working on a Java app. at work that is due 8/1. Time has been running out and so I forced myself to go to work that day. What I didn’t realize was that I would barely make it through and would spend the next 48 hours completely in bed and another 36 confined to a chair. I was not able to touch, hug or kiss my wife and kids for what seemed like forever. Two days of solid aching and sweating then following with the fear of swallowing because of the tremendous pain. (And a painful throat culture)
During days of doing nothing but thinking and praying (and inadvertent fasting), I had some very enlightening thoughts and time to take some hard looks into myself and my relationship with Abba (Father). I also thought about my biological father that died before I met him. I’m not sure yet, what I am going to go into online about my revelations, but there were some blessings in this time, even though I missed teaching Sabbath School and could not put extra time in at work on Sunday.
One blessing that I could not discuss enough is my wife. This incredible woman waited on me more than any mother watching three children could. As I started to feel better, I watched her sleeping on the couch with our two month old daughter. They both looked so beautiful and I felt so blessed to be married to someone I have never done anything in my life to deserve. I know I’ve babbled on about my wife before, but this incredible woman truly deserves!
My apologies for my absence while I was sick –and now try to get caught up at work.
Blessed is Adonai who has given His healing touch and a wonderful wife!
